I appreciate the newsletter, and the time you take writing it. For me, in transport policy, not planning, it gives me a different view on some things I know about, and occasionally alerts me to things I did not know about. So, all in all, it's a valuable tool.
I really appreciate the time and effort you put into the newsletters, they always contain really useful and interesting articles which I share with my team or use myself.
It's short enough to read through and pick out what takes your fancy and I like the fact that you find articles to include that many of us just wouldn't have time to research, but are relevant to the work we do and also provide a different conversation around topics.
A weekly newsletter would be handy, but then it might be too long? It's difficult to say what is best overall. But please do continue if you can!
Many thanks for your mobilty matters news each day.....some feedback as requested:
What good about newsletter - it comes at a good time of day (midday) so can be read and digested around lunchtime - so many interesting and geeky things that as transport planners we all love, but don't always get around to finding out or researching, you clearly know your stuff! I really enjoy the visual stuff, feeds my love of info graphics to explain complex issues in a simple way.
Do I hate anything about it...no, only thing is I have to download pictures everytime, but think that maybe more to do with my email than anything else.
I think the ideas and knowledge sharing of all the tools out there now are great. There are so many topics, that it's great to know a bit about so many things transport related.
What I think is needed in transport planning to meet the challenges ahead is to keep conversations going and spreading the words and experiences with all those not in the transport planning world. At work we have a pledge wall to what we are all going to do and stick to to assist in the climate emergency, transport being a huge contributor to this. Every little helps.
Hi Annabel. Thank you so much for your comments. I must admit that I love the idea of a pledge wall. Such a simple thing, and yet can have such an impact on what you do. I completely understand about the pictures. Sadly this is one of those things about emails i guess, but i can see what can be done to keep the visuals to a minimum so they don't break email systems!
