Planes, Trains, No Automobiles - MMS
Good day my good friend.
Before we get into the special, despite my own worries in life this week, I cannot help but spare a thought for those affected in Friday’s horrific train crash in Odisha, India. I always feel that thoughts and prayers are meaningless, but I have yet to see any way that we can practically help through donation or practical assistance. So this is the best I can do. I hope they are in your thoughts as we strive to make the transport system globally a safer place.
In the first of a series of specials this week, I thought I would keep it simple. Bread and butter. Salt of the Earth. No funny business. And any other clichés you can think of. And this is about how Europe is replacing planes with trains.
This isn’t just down to polices like those of the French (though they help). But airlines are really struggling to recover from COVID. Maybe we might win this fight after all.
