Mobility Matters Daily #112 - It's that plan again
With some data on motorcycles, and cut the clutter
Good day friend.
A short one today. Places to be, things to do, plus there seems to be only one news item on the agenda at the moment. Enjoy.

There has been plenty of reaction to the UK Government’s Decarbonisation Plan
I must admit that I have not had the chance to review the Decarbonisation Plan in any great detail yet. I plan to next week. But others clearly have more time on their hands than I do.
The always-excellent En Avant! summarises the key points. Whilst noting that the focus on active travel is good, it warns against tech optimism. Logistics UK launched its Road to Net Zero pretty much the next day, though the Road Haulage Association disagrees with the government’s plan. Rail freight says “more rail electrification please” while civil engineers say that the climate is overlooked in infrastructure projects. The bus industry wants fewer cars on the road. The green economy generally likes it, while the Daily Telegraph doesn’t because of road tax.
Stat of the Day
Motorcycles are often forgotten about when we plan for different transport modes. This data shows that ownership is highly concentrated in just a few countries. Notably Greece, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland.
